Centre for Economic & Libertarian Affairs - Kenya (CELA-K) is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) working in community capacity building to enhance civil society participation in decision-making with the goal of entrenching a culture of constitutionalism, Good Governance, Human Rights, Social Justice, Democracy, and Pluralism. CELA-K is also involved in activities meant to ensure economic empowerment of the populace through citizen mobilization, advocacy for reform of national policies, legislations and effective implementation national policies to improve the political, economic and social lives of the citizenry.

VISION: CELAK has a vision to have a Nation of Informed and Responsible citizens participating effectively in governance, management and equitable sustainable development based on solidarity and subsidiarity principles in a stable, peaceful, democratic and secure environment.

MISSION: Strengthen Civil Society and communities become effective agents of positive change based on trust between citizens and their government institutions, Solidarity, mutual responsibility and Subsidiary principles.

 OBJECTIVE: To promote National Democratic Participatory Culture of Constitutionalism, Pluralism, Equity, Equality, Inclusiveness, Justice, unified, informed, Gender sensitive, and well functioning connected diverse self-managed communities of Kenya through entrenchment of Democratic values and culture of constitutionalism under solidarity and subsidiarity systems.

AIM: Building a solidarity, issue and subsidiarity-based society with Devolved Regional Governance and strong Democratic National Institutions to enhance citizen participation, through Devolution and Decentralization, Civic/Political/Constitutional Education, Freedom of Information, Economic Empowerment, Human Rights awareness, Capacity building, Advocacy, innovation, lobbying, supportive initiatives, participation, partnerships, and mobilisation of local resources to achieve our social, political, cultural, and economical justice. The informed and responsible citizens shall enhance demand side accountability and eliminate poverty.

POLICY: We do not discriminate on gender, creed, tribe, race, age, colour, political party affiliation or religious beliefs.
